About Me

I haven't been particularly active for many months but I'm hoping to change that. Unfortunately, all of my real life friends that I originally joined with have left deviantArt. That knowledge left me feeling despondent, especially when I became close with other members and they would deactivate, too.
Combine the loss of friends with my personal issues, like my depression and inability to move forward with my life, I began to withdraw into myself. It took me a couple of years of counselling before I learnt to like myself.

During these six months, I've been pottering about on dA but it's only recently that I decided to get back on track. Creating journal features have given me a new sense of vigour to get out of my comfort zone and really get involved in what's going on around deviantArt. This doesn't necessarily mean I'll upload artwork on a regular basis; I'm a firm believer of balancing quality with quantity and I don't think I'm up to that standard.
I am, however, going to be an active member and friend. I've got a lot of journal features, projects and ideas that I want to share with everyone. I'm hoping that some of us might even collaborate or do some art trades!

Thank You

And so I just wanted to thank you for all the encouragement, favourites, comments, features and watches you guys have given me over the years.
I'm so happy to be a member of a site that allows us to share our art and get to know one another. When I joined this site, I honestly didn't expect comments on my work; I signed up to dA because it was another way for me to talk to my friends. But then I met all of you guys and began to really enjoy spending my time on here.
This leads me onto...

Tell Me About Yourself

Since I've been out of touch, I would like to know more about you guys. You can either write a journal post in response, involving your own watchers and friends in the process, or you can leave a comment.

To get the ball rolling, I'll start:

I'm Izzy and am 22 years old. At the moment, I work in a restaurant within a garden centre and am extremely happy to be working there. I love to write, particularly fantasy stories, and am hoping to become a librarian or work in a bookshop. Occasionally I think about life as an author but I'm aware it's incredibly hard work and can involve a hectic schedule.
I can draw as long as I have a reference but I do find it stressful, particularly if the work is challenging.

Let me know your name, age, your favourite medium to work with and what your aspirations are for the future, whether it's on deviantArt or in real life.
