Literature Text

Dream, little pirate.
Dragging the past in silence,
Chasing a lost childhood.
Stranded on your ship,
Without a crew.

From the shore, caught somewhere in time,
Solace seeks a dying man.
Your last words,
Caught in a scream in the wind.
Sometimes, in order to reach your dream, you can only rely on yourself. You can't rely on other people to make things happen for you. The road will be tough, dirty and damn long. For some, there might not even be a road. You might need to swim in shark infested waters or a ride in a hot air balloon in order to reach your destination. But once you get there, you'll experience the good times and the not so good times. You'll cry, you'll shout and you'll scream.
Life is what you make it. Death is a part of life and at one point, your journey is going to end for good. You better get a move on.

If anyone is interested, when I was younger I always dreamt that I would be something incredible. I wanted to be a pop star who was also a professional ice-skater. I have no idea what I was thinking. When you were younger, what did you have dreams of being? Did they come true or have your aspirations changed?

It is an interesting piece in where the pirate is the metaphor for a normal person seeking out their dreams and ambitions in the world. It is wonderfully written, packed full of meaningful and inspirational imagery. Very well done! :)
